Our new SKYWATCH AWS Weather station measures windspeed, temperature and humidity with a sensor located at the end of a 2 meter cable. The AWS has alarm thresholds for warning of high windspeed, and high and low temperature and humidity. Two levels of windspeed thresholds can be set. The warning is both audible and visual. The kit includes the display, a 2 meter sensor cable, protection disk and wind turbine. The sensor cable has the temperature and humidity sensor inside. An optional separate wind sensor disk with 2 meter cable can be used to measure windspeed in a different location than temperature and humidity; useful for monitoring temperature and humidity in the shade, and windspeed in the open.

The sensor assembly includes the sensor disk with 2 meter cable (bottom), a protection disk (middle) and wind turbine (top). Attach the sensor assembly to a tripod or other surface; the sensor and protection disks have a hole for the screw to pass through into the thread at the bottom of the turbine.
A wind only sensor disk can be used to monitor the windspeed separately from the temperature and humidity sensor. There are two plugs on the display of the AWS.
ALARMS:
The key feature of the Skywatch AWS is the user programmable alarms for windspeed, temperature, and humidity. There are two levels for each measurement; low level and high level maximum windspeed; low temperature, high temperature; low humidity, high humidity.
When the measured value is above the high alarm value, an alarm sounds with a 1/2 second beep every second for 16 seconds. If the measured value is below the low alarm value, an alarm sounds with a 1/4 second beep twice a second for 16 seconds. The bright LEDs flash during the alarm and continues until the alarm is reset.
After an alarm has been activated, the display will show which alarms were triggered. This way even if you are away from the unit when an alarm goes off, you can visually see that it was activate.
The standard AWS System comes complete with the display, sensor plate with 2m cable (includes temperature, humidity, and windspeed receiver), and wind turbine. Componants can be sold separately (special order).
AWS Display, battery operated (2 x AA included) or AC adapter (optional). No internal sensors in the display, all information is measured via the sensor assemblies.
Temperature and humidity sensor with windspeed receiver (wind turbine on top will measure windspeed). White disk is the spacer between disk and turbine.
