What is a Gust Register?

Maximum's Gust Register is a delicate needle of gold-plated phosphor-bronze, photo etched for precision.

Unique to the Maestro and Vigilant Anemometers, it is the mechanism by which highest gusts are saved. Minute oscillations are induced in the meter needle, which then moves the Gust Register by tiny "pile driver" thrusts. Perfectly concentric to the pivot and square to the dial, the Gust Register is both an engineering gem and a work of art.
