Developed in partnership with the USS Saratoga Association, this commemorative clock honors the service of the United States Ship Saratoga (CV 3), and the Sailors, Marines, and Squadrons who served onboard. All custom artwork was supplied by the Saratoga Association for use in creating this clock. |
A highly customized "Tides of Puget Sound" Tide Clock by Ocean Clocks - The dial features a beautiful starboard shot of the USS Saratoga underway, crew "manning the rails". The historical Ship's Seal with the Fouled Anchor is also present. The dial background is the nautical chart of the Puget Sound, WA. - also historically significant, as Bremerton, WA. was her last active duty homeport. The clock case is of brass porthole design, using authentic marine fittings and hinge, and is crafted from nearly 4 pounds of solid brass. The unique tidal movement is localized to the Puget Sound region of Washington, displaying the High Tide time differences between the major ports and waterways of that region. The tide hand displays the high tide times at the following locations: Crescent Bay, Guemes Channel, Fauntleroy Point, Bellingham Channel, Port Angeles, Barnes Island, Dungeness, Sequim Bay, Blake Island, Smith Island, Port Townsend, Ship Harbor, Foulweather Bluff, Seattle, Bremerton, Gig Harbor, Arletta, Dupony Wharf, Olympia, Hammersley Inlet.
